Surface is a finishing study that begins with a carved foam block and a single design constraint: a continuous hard edge encircling the form. After shaping, I sealed the foam in resin, then cycled through surfacing steps. A final clear-gloss enamel locks in depth and specular highlights. The result is a compact object where the silhouette’s hard line contrasts with soft volumes, proving how finish can clarify form and elevate a simple mass.
